Hello! Today, I am wanting to review a book I read a couple months ago and absolutely loved, and that is Eon, by Alison Goodman. Let's get started!

I'm going to start with a summery!

Sixteen-year-old Eon has a dream, and a mission. For years, he's been studying sword-work and magic, toward one end. He and his master hope that he will be chosen as a Dragoneye-an apprentice to one of the twelve energy dragons of good fortune.

But Eon has a dangerous secret. He is actually Eona, a sixteen-year-old girl who has been masquerading as a twelve-year-old boy. Females are forbidden to use Dragon Magic; if anyone discovers she has been hiding in plain sight, her death is assured.

When Eon's secret threatens to come to light, she and her allies are plunged into grave danger and a deadly struggle for the Imperial throne. Eon must find the strength and inner power to battle those who want to take her magic...and her life.

Wow. I absolutely loved this book, and all the development that went in to it. It has great, strong female characters, and a very diverse amount of characters. Just how diverse? Well, lets just say that you'll have to read to find out; it comes as a bit of a surprise.

Second, look at the cover! Amazing! It tells a story all its own, I just... it's very cool.

I loved the structure of the story, that it wasn't a half rated attempt at Asian culture, it succeeded in pulling in just the right aspects of it to make it believable. The cycle of the dragons: amazing.

She also makes a believable villain. He is evil, but also has a valid reason for being evil. Which is nice.

Hopefully, I convinced you to read this. If not, oh well. If you do end up reading this, try the second one, Eona. Alison Goodman also has a few other books out, if you're interested. See ya!
